In-house Courses and Individual Coaching
These programs are customized according to skill level: beginner, intermediate, advanced or master – and the results desired.
To maximize learning, North Star’s teaching method is interactive, practical and highly enjoyable. Most group seminars are limited to 20 participants with a minimum of 10.
Seminars or coaching on the following subjects can be tailored to meet specific company and individual needs:
- Writing: Programs typically range from the basics of good writing to the building blocks of language (vocabulary, grammar, idioms, etc.) to mastering specific business-writing genres such as reports, proposals, press releases and e-mail. Advanced classes can be designed on concise, persuasive and creative writing, among other topics.
- Executive Speechwriting: Sessions usually are conducted with the executive giving the speech or with a corporate communications manager in charge of writing the first draft. Either way, the process involves individual hands-on help in both writing and delivery.
- Presentations Skills: Courses tend to run the gamut of presentation skills learning, from executive speeches delivered at a lectern using visual aids to team presentations delivered around a conference table to telemarketing pitches that take the cold out of cold-calling.
- Oral English: Workshops focus on the words and phrases used most in daily industry-specific professional life with an emphasis on pronunciation, enunciation, pausing, rate-of-speech and intonation.
- Research: Seminars are often designed around little-known but vital research skills such as interviewing techniques, searching the Deep Web and accessing public documents, among others.
- Charismatic Leadership: Programs involve one-on-one coaching for middle and senior-management staff and are tailored to meet company and individual-executive needs. The ultimate goal: a new, more personable approach to leadership that is at once dynamic and effective.
- Emotional Intelligence: Sessions, both individual and group, help participants identify and hone the various emotional competencies most associated with star performance such as self-awareness, empathy and diplomacy.
- International Business Etiquette: Courses span the myriad aspects of cultural differences, East and West, to help participants understand how cultures can work for them – and their company – in the global economy.
- Media: Seminars generally cover print and broadcast media from the inside to help companies, especially their public relations and corporate communications staff, understand what they can do to get their message across more effectively.
